Our Kids First program is designed for parents involved in shared custody proceedings. Parents are court ordered to attend this type of program if custody is to be resolved in their legal matter before the court. Kids First teaches parents involved in custody disputes why peaceful co-parenting is in their children’s best interests, and provides the tools to make that possible.
Our program is approved for the statutory parenting class requirement. The entire class consists of an online program (four hours of credit) and a four hour, in-person classes facilitated by one of our instructors.
Kids First is currently offered monthly in Duluth and on the Iron Range. To register, please call our Kids First Program Coordinator at 218-336-1392.
The cost is $80 per individual, however if you are proceeding with an In Forma Pauperis Order, the fee is reduced to $40 per individual.
Once you have signed up for Kids First, you can begin the online portion of the class. This should be completed before you attend the in-person class.
Registered Kids’ First participants can find the online portion of their class at http://www.uptoparents.org/.
